Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista Jolo, Sulu – July 11, 2022

Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu and 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly constructed Barangay road at Barangay Upper Sinumaan in Talipao, Sulu on July 6, 2022.

According to Maj. Gen. Patrimonio, based on the report submitted by Brig. Gen. Eugenio C. Boquio, Commander of 1101st Infantry Brigade that the newly constructed barangay road has connected Barangays of Upper Sinumaan and Lower Sinumaan at least seven (7) kilometers of unpaved road was built within three (3) weeks as part of Barangay Sinumaan road network.

Moreso, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio lauded and credited the convergence of efforts of Lt. Col. Benito Ramos, Commanding Officer of 2nd Special Forces Battalion, and Lt. Col. Andrew Tanguilig, Commanding Officer of 545th Engineering Battalion both of JTF Sulu for their partnership with local government units through Provincial Task Force in Ending Local Armed Conflict (PTF-ELAC) that brought development, accessibility and improvement of the security landscape in the municipality of Talipao, Sulu.

The developmental initiative was part of the sustainment effort of the Community Support Program (CSP) designated to the 6th Special Forces Company of 2nd SF Battalion since their deployment on November last year.

The CSP as a flagship program of the Armed Forces of the Philippines had brought development and sustainment activities in Barangay Sinumaan such as providing galvanized roofs, water tanks, water hoses, and seedlings distribution to the community of Sitio Timpuad; reintegration process of former ASG members through a program dubbed as “Fighter to Farmer Project”; transformation of battlegrounds into a playground for children in Sitio Larang; and the construction of peace formation and learning center for peace education that significantly contributed in building the community geared towards resiliency.
