Posted to Kalinaw News (Jan 12, 2022): Central Luzon Troops Discover Communist Terrorist Group Arms and Food Cache in Nueva Ecija
Caranglan, Nueva Ecija – A platoon of soldiers from the 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion (84th IB) operating in barangay Minuli, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija discovered today a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) Arms Cache while conducting combat operations.
Responding to a tip from civilians from the communities, the Army platoon led by First Lieutenant Edmar Inte, Commanding Officer of Charlie Company, 84th IB discovered One M203 Grenade Launcher, ten rounds of 40mm M203 grenade, three stock/butt plates for M14 rifle, six Ctg. 5.56mm ball, four long and two short 5.56mm magazine assembly, five Icom Radios with one charger, one 30-liter container of rice, two keypad cellphones, and assorted medical paraphernalia container that was buried on the ground in a drum by the remnants of the CY2021 defeated CTG Komiteng Larangan Gerilya-Sierra Madre (KLG-SM).
Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Gil C Ileto, Commanding Officer of the 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion said that “The discovery of this arms and food cache with the community’s involvement is a success not only for the Army but for the people in that area. No longer can these arms and supplies will fall back in the hands of these terrorists that have long brought hardship and fear to the said barangay. We can now truly look forward to a more peaceful future for the development of barangay Minuli.
During the day, a dialogue with the community was organized by the 84IB troops to personally thank the locals for their bold support to the government’s initiative in ending insurgency in the country that lead to the discovery of war materials.
1Lt Inte on his part said that “We are very much thankful for your audacious support (Community) that lead to the discovery of the arms and food caches, and hoping that this active collaboration of us will continue to finally end the more than half-century-old insurgency in the country.”
Barangay Minuli was the hometown of former CTG leader Eleuterio S Agmaliw @Omeng/Yano/Andre who was the head of the CTGs Komiteng Larangan Gerilya-Sierra Madre (KLG-SM). He was killed in an encounter at Novaliches, Quezon City on December 19, 2019, which contributed to the dismantling of KLG-SM which for years have brought havoc and fear in Nueva Ecija with their terroristic and violent actions against the people.
Ltc Ileto commended the troops of Lt Inte for a job well done and hopes to find more of the same arms and food cache in the future.
