Two members of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday, July 22.
“Ka Sally,” 42, surrendered to Police Lt. Col. Fredereck Senal, force commander of the 1st Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company based in Barangay Gaas, Baybay City in Leyte at around 5 p.m.
Ka Sally was a regular member of the Red Fighter Dumagsa Seksyon Komite and the commanding officer of the Florencio Elairon command operating in some parts of Leyte.
The former rebel also surrendered a caliber .38 revolver and four bullets.
In San Isidro town, Northern Samar, “Islaw,” 22, also surrendered to the 1st Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company headed by Police Major Edwin Oloan, Jr. in Barangay Happy Valley, San Isidro town.
Islaw was a member of the SYP Platoon, F-2 of the SRC Emporium.
Sally and Islaw who are now in the custody of the PNP are expected to receive financial assistance from the government.
