Kalinaw News: West Mindanao Command transports fifth batch of COVID-19 vaccines to Sulu and Tawi-Tawi

Posted to Kalinaw News (May 14, 2021): West Mindanao Command transports fifth batch of COVID-19 vaccines to Sulu and Tawi-Tawi



Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City – Western Mindanao Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines continues to assist in the transportation of the COVID-19 vaccine in the island provinces of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi on May 14, 2021.

According to Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander WesMinCom, utilizing the medium lift transport aircraft C-295 of the air force, a total of two boxes of AstraZeneca vaccines were transported to the island provinces of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

Each box contains a total of 2,080 doses of vaccine turned over to the health officer of the respective province. According to Colonel Dennis Estrella, Commander, Tactical Operations Wing-Western Mindanao. The Philippine Air Force continues to provide air transportation support to the government’s roll out vaccination plan to deliver the vaccines to the farthest places of the Western Mindanao Joint area of operations.

Meanwhile, since the start of the rollout plan of the vaccines, this is the fifth batch of vaccines transported to the said island provinces.
