CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Joint police and military authorities neutralized Monday dawn a wanted person who resisted arrest by trading shots with lawmen in North Cotabato.

Lt. Col. Edgardo L. Vilchez Jr., commander of the 34th Infantry Battalion, said the joint team was
to serve three warrants of arrest for murder charges against Bayan Guila Dumila alias “Boy Army” in Sitio Kabugan, Barangay Guiling in Alamada, North Cotabato when he opened fire on approaching security forces.


“They were fired upon by the suspect, prompting state forces to return fire,” Vilchez said, adding that two guns and ammunition were later found inside the suspect’s house.

Seized from the suspect’s house were two M-14 rifles, ammunition, and one barrel for a .50 caliber Barrett sniper rifle.

In a separate interview, Brig. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong, the 602nd Infantry Brigade commander, said the seized war materiel are now under the safekeeping of the Alamada police.

The remains of the suspect were turned over to the bereaved family, he added.
