From Kalinaw News (Feb 17, 2021): JTFC Beef Up Focused Military Operations
CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Several war materials were recovered by the troops of 57th Infantry ‘Masikap’ Battalion under the Joint Task Force Central during the intensified focused military operations in Datu Unsay, Maguindanao yesterday (February 16, 2021).
Lt. Col. Jonathan Pondanera, Commanding Officer of 57IB said the troopers have recovered arms caches while conducting combat clearing operations in Sitio Tupos, Brgy Bulayan in the said municipality at 12:35 in the afternoon.
Troops recovered items were one 7.62MM M14 rifle, 106 rounds live ammunition of 7.62MM ball, six rounds live ammunition of 12-gauge shotgun, three pieces magazine of M14 and one piece bandolier.
Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of 6ID and JTFC lauded the efforts of the 57th IB for the continuous sifting the lair of the local terrorist group and driving away the lawless elements who halted the peace and stability in the area of Maguindanao.
“Also I have directed all units under JTF Central to intensify Focus Military Operations against Terrorist and other Lawless elements in the whole Joint Area of Operations to ensure the safety of communities and security of the people” Major General Uy stated.
