The Armed Forces of the Philippines received today (April 1, 2020) a donation of 23,000 COVID-19 rapid test kits and personal protective equipment (PPEs) from businessman Kim Wong.
In simple rites at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, Jr. received the donation on behalf of AFP’s various service units.
According to Esperon, the rapid test kits and PPEs will be distributed to the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard and V. Luna General Hospital for use by frontliners and those infected with the highly contagious disease.
Aside from the AFP, Wong has donated thousands of COVID-19 rapid tests kits, PPEs, surgical masks, face shields and relief goods to various local government units including Makati, Paranaque, Pasay, Manila and provinces in the Visayas and Cagayan Valley among others.
