FORT BONIFACIO, Jan. 24 -- The Philippine Army sent off its newest batch of Army 2nd Lieutenants here on Wednesday, January 22.

During the Army Commanding General’s time with the new officers, Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay reminded them to ensure that every soldier under their leadership are well-trained and equipped for their respective roles.

A total of 188 graduates from the Officer Candidate Course “Himaglahi” Class 69-2019, Philippine Military Academy “Mabalasik” Class of 2019, and other foreign service academies completed the Basic Officer Leadership Course and will be deployed as Infantry Platoon Leaders in their designated units.

The knowledge that the graduates gained from the talk of CGPA as well as with the Army Vice Commander (VCPA) and Army Chief of Staff (CSPA) aims to help prepare them for their leadership roles in the field.

“[Let us ensure] our overall direction to sustain momentum in capacitating the Army towards greater mission effectiveness. We are one team Army in the service of our nation and people,” said Gapay in a speech. (PA)
