PILI, CAMARINES SUR — As the 9th Infantry (SPEAR) Division celebrates its 15 years of existence, 9ID Commander MGEN Fernando Trinidad deemed it fitting to also honor the men and women of the Philippine Army (PA), including their partners and stakeholders who greatly contributed in attaining their mission of serving the Bicolanos.
As a manifestation of its commitment to protect the integrity of uniformed personnel and for serving the populace without bias, fear or favor, Trinidad honored deserving units who have shown deep dedication thru their sacrifices and notable accomplishments in gaining the peace that our communities now enjoy.
“For over 15 years, the 9th Infantry (SPEAR) Division has consistently manifested its enduring commitment and devotion to the constitutional mandate in the service of the Filipino people. From its humble beginning of being 9th Infantry (Orgullo) Brigade Separate, to what we are today, we have persistently endeavored to become a professional and dependable army division, ever passionate to carry out our sworn duties with integrity in this region as well as in parts of Mindanao,” Trinidad said in his speech.
First on the list of awardees is the 902nd Infantry (Fight and Serve) Brigade which was adjudged as Best Infantry Brigade for CY 2019. The 83rd Infantry (MATIKAS) Battalion was also cited as Best Infantry Battalion CY 2019 (Luzon based),the 65th Infantry (STALWART) Battalion as the Best Infantry Battalion CY 2019 (Mindanao-based) while the 91st Division Reconnaissance (FALCON) Company was honored as the Best Division Reconnaissance Company CY 2019.
Best Enlisted Personnel of the Year goes to SSG Emanuel V. Caño (CE) PA) 83IB, 9ID PA, Best CAFGU Active Auxiliary Of the Year is CAA Dominador G. Capistrano Jr 22IB, Best Civilian Employee of the Year is Ms Cescil P. Orozco – CEASH, 9ID PA and CPT Carlos C. Tobias (INF) PA 49IB as Best Officer of the year.
Chief executives, LGU officials and government agency leaders who were instrumental in the attainment of peace in their respective jurisdictions were also acknowledged for exhibiting cooperation and assistance to combat insurgency in their areas.

Edwin Bermal (Albay); former Del Gallego Municipal Mayor Lydia Abarientos (Camarines Sur); Labo, Camarines Norte Mayor Joseph Ascutia (Camarines Norte); Milagros, Masbate Municipal Mayor Natividad Isabel Magbalon (Masbate); San Andres, Catanduanes Municipal Mayor Peter Cua (Catanduanes); Tagkawayan Municipal Mayor Luis Oscar Eleazar (Quezon) and Peter Paul Philippine Corporation Factory Manager Brendy Lonzaga from Sorsogon.
