CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Camarines Sur (DWDD) – The officers and enlisted personnel of the 9th Infantry “Spear” Division maintains its readiness through continous enhancement of their skills and capability.
In an interview by DWDD with Colonel Ferozaldo Regencia, spokesperson, 9th Infantry “Spear” Division, Spear Troopers are always ready to respond to any emergency or enemy atrocities.
Catanduanes, Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte experienced rains this past weeks due to TY Ompong but the region was not directly affected, but troops are ready to respond to any eventuality, in particular their Task Group that is tasked top ensure “Zero Casualty.”.
In other developments, an encounter occurred between troops of the 9ID and more or less ten (10) NPA members where two (2) Communist terrorist were killed. Recovered from the encounter site were voluminous subversive documents, guns, improvised explosive devices, and some personal belongings.
Aside from Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief readiness and anti-insurgency operations, Spear troopers are also enhancing their Civil-Military Operational capability since it is a vital tool in winning the hearts and minds of the citizenry, most specially those who were deceived to join the rebel movement.
Meanwhile, the 9ID is also in the midst of strengthening the introduction of the Reserve Officers Training Course (ROTC) among Senior High School (SHS) students in the region. This after the Department of Education (DEPED) requested the AFP to prepare and test SHS students for training. It was the desire of the local government and even parents to see their sons and daughters in fatigue, joing military parades and becoming more responsive, disciplined and physically-prepared citizens AES / LQG.
