From the Mindanao Times (Jun 29): 2 bodies in Maco ex-NPAs
THE TWO bodies found on Wednesday at the national highway in Purok 4 , Anislagan, Maco, Compostela valley were identified as a militia and former rebel.
Chief Insp Milgrace Driz, the spokesperson of Police Regional Office (PRO) XI identified, them as Jessie Golis, an active CAA assigned in 72IB stationed in Barangay Don Enrique Lopez, Mati City and Juniel Bañez, a former rebel.
According to the report, around 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, the Maco Municipal Police Station received a phone call from Romel Lubiano, barangay chairman of Barangay Anislagan, informing them of the two bodies.
PNP personnel, led by Chief Insp. Gomersendo Diwata, verified the report and called the Scene of the Crime Operatives to process the site. The two victims succumbed to the gunshot wounds to their heads. They were killed somewhere else and dumped in the area.
Residents claimed that they heard a vehicle pass by the area around1 a.m.
The Maco police are trying to determine if the killing has something to do with the previous shooting incident in Barangay Binuangan on June 26.
Recovered pieces of physical evidence from the crime scene were: P3,000, two cellular phone batteries, one charger, and one bullet from a .45 caliber pistol. The bodies are now in Maco Funeral Parlor in Anislagan, Maco.
