The Local Government Unit of Carmen, North Cotabato under the leadership of Mayor Roger Talino conducted a peace advocacy on the GPH-MILF Peace Process and Anti - Violent Extremism at Markadz Ebrahim Al Islamie, Barangay Nasapian, Carmen, North Cotabato on March 24, 2018.
The said activity was made in partnership with the MILF Political Committee, MILF Committee on Information, MILF Da'wah Committee and Masajid Affairs of Liguwasan Province, and the security sector of the municipality, and Province of North Cotabato.
The peace advocacy is under the auspices of Office of Deputy Governor on Muslim Affairs of North Cotabato, and was attended by 1,500 Bangsamoro stakeholders.
The event was attended by COP - MPS of Carmen, PCI Julius Malcontento who talked about the Anti - Drug Campaign of President Duterte and other form of criminalities.
602nd Brigade Commander Col. Alfredo Rosario Jr. of 6ID Kampilan talked about the Mandate and Essence of Martial Law and reiterated their support to the peace process and for the immediate passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) which is now pending in congress.
Board Member of Cotabato 1st District Mohammad Kellie Antao, Chairman of Committee on Peace and Order and Human Rights also delivered his solidarity message in honor of the participants and guest.
The MILF Da'wah Committee on Non - Muslim Affairs, Shiek Abdulhadie Gumander talked on Anti - Violent Extremism on Islamic Perspective and also Islamic Leadership and Loyalty to its Leaders.
In his message, Sheik Gumander emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity in Islam particularly the Bangsamoro and loyalty to its leader as a form of Ibaadah (worship).
Mohagher Iqbal, Chairman of MILF Peace Implementing Panel was invited as guest speaker but due to his hectic schedule, he was represented by Atty. Haron Meling of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission who gave an updates on GPH - MILF Peace Process and discussed the salient features of the BBL.
