From Update Philippines (Dec 5): PH getting 5 new French-made vessels starting June 2018
The Philippines will be getting four 24-meter fast patrol boats (FPV 72 MKII) in June 2018 and one 82-meter offshore patrol vessel (OPV 270 MKII) in August 2019 from French shipbuilder OCEA, this was confirmed by OCEA officials to the inspection team of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
These vessels are being acquired for Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) through the Philippine Ports and Coast Guard Capability Development Project between the governments of the Philippines and France.
The shipbuilding contract was signed in September 2014 by the then Department of Transportation and Communication (D0TC) and OCEA.

The contract includes five-year preventive maintenance for all five boats, spare parts for five years, and technical assistance and training for the crew.

On September 6, 2017, the DOTr and OCEA signed the contract effectiveness agreement the means certain conditions precedent for the coming into full force and effect of the contract has already been completed.
