From the Philippine News Agency (May 25): Western Mindanao Command, 4th Civil Relations Service Group to conduct football meet

In line with its community engagement efforts, the Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM) and the 4th Civil Relations Service Group will conduct its "Foot for Peace 2016" on Saturday.

The sporting event will be held at Edwin Andrews Air Base, Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City.

Expected to attend are football fanatics coming from the provinces being secured by the WESMINCOM which include Zamboanga Provinces, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi.

"An event like this provides opportunities for children and the youth to engage in valuable and positive relationship with adults, which is especially important when such benefits are not available at home," WESMINCOM spokesperson Major Filemon Tan said.

"As they learn to interact with peers and adults, kids learn to safely navigate and negotiate right and wrong providing constructive experience, creating peaceful and productive relations with players," he added.
