From DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Jan 6): BETTER MOBILITY // Brand New KM-450 Trucks
CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines received a much needed mobility boost with the arrival last December of 219 Kia KM-450 military trucks.
In an interview by DWDD with Col Benjamin Hao, spokesperson of the Philippine Army, the 219 KM-450 trucks are part of an initial 327 vehicle delivery made by KIA, where 108 is earmarked for the Army and the rest will be divided among the Philippine Navy, Philippines Marines, and Philippine Air Force.
Col Hao added that the KM-450 deal with KIA is worth P1.937-B for a total of 717 KM-450 units. Another 390 KM-450s are scheduled to arrive before the end of January
The recently delivered vehicles are now undergoing technical inspection and assessment before being handed over to their mother units.
KM-450s are used for transport and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions by the PA. OACPA / AES / MCAG
