Five men trapped in a rampaging river in Benito Soliven town
in Isabela province were rescued by a Philippine Air Force (PAF) unit on
Sunday.
PAF Spokesperson Col. Enrico Canaya said the five were
rescued at around 10 a.m. at the river near Barangay Yeban Norte.
He added that the PAF unit was headed by Major Marcelino
Jesus Cabusas who is affiliated with Tactical Operations Group 2.
After the rescue, he said the team also distributed at least
18 sacks of relief goods to 129 families affected by typhoon "Lando"
from Yeban Norte to sitios Turod and Raked using rubber boat.
