An Fokker F-27 "Friendship" VIP transport
aircraft, on a routine training mission, collapsed at the Legazpi Airport
in Albay after damaging its nose gear while landing Monday morning.
The incident took place at 10 a.m., Philippine Air Force
spokesperson Lt. Col. Enrico Canaya said in a message to the PNA.
He added that the plane was carrying six crewmen, including
its pilot.
This prevented normal flight operations from being carried
out in the said airfield.
Canaya said that the crippled F-27 was towed clear at 3
p.m., resuming flight operations.
An investigation is now being conducted to determine the
exact cause of the mishap.
