CRSAFP chief appointed to head 2nd Infantry Division

From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 3): CRSAFP chief appointed to head 2nd Infantry Division

Brig. Gen. Romeo G. Gan, incumbent Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CRSAFP) commander, was appointed Tuesday to head the Tanay-based 2nd Infantry Division.

Change-of-command ceremonies took place at Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal at 10 a.m.

Gan replaced Major Gen. Rodelio V. Santos, who retired Tuesday after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.

Lt. Gen. Hernando DCA Iriberri, Philippine Army commander, presided over the ceremony.

A competent leader, Gan emphasized his work ethics through the current CRSAFP slogan: ROAR-CRS, which stands for: "Relevant, Objective, Adept, Responsive, Committed, Reliable, Service-oriented".

During his stint as CRS chief, the CRSAFP harnessed different capabilities in mitigating the effects of natural and man-made calamities such as the onslaught of Typhoon "Glenda" and the threat posed by Mayon Volcano in Albay.

A member of the Philippine Military Academy “Matikas” Class of 1983, Gan actively supported projects in line with Disaster Preparedness and Awareness; Empowerment of our Indigenous People; and Children in Armed Conflict and Role of the Youth in Nation Building.

Prior to his designation as the CRS chief, he was the assistant division commander of the 6th infantry Division, based in Camp Siongco, Awang DOS, Maguindanao.
