The Agency for Youth Affairs (AYA)-South Cotabato Chapter with the support from the MILF Political Committee in the province hosted a public consultation on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) on November 16, 2014 at the Koronadal Proper Elementary School Gymnasium, Koronadal Proper, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Mr. Abdullah Cusain, Head of the Communication Group of Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) explained the salient features of BBL and also answered queries raised by the participants related to ARMM abolition, petition for inclusion, security, political qualifications, rights of IP’s, and MILF Political Party.
Program organizers were expecting about 200 participants but 354 attended from different line agencies of MILF, leaders of Peoples’ Organization, indigenous peoples, settlers, professionals, traditional leaders from the City of Koronadal, Municipality of Tupi and Polomolok.
Barangay officials from the Municipality of Polomolok also participated in the public consultation.
The participants were so happy when Mr. Cusain handed over to them 100 copies of “The Proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law”.
Mr. Cusain complimented the efforts made by the organizers and encouraged the AYA-South Cotabato to plan for a bigger gathering on BBL where BTC commissioners could possibly attend if Allahu Subhanahu wa Ta’ala wills.
