The promotions were approved upon the recommendation of DILG Secretary and National Police Commission Chairman Mar Roxas and PNP Chief, Director General Alan L Purisima.
Promoted to the rank of Police Director (Major General) were Police Director Rodrigo P. De Gracia (The Director for Information and Communications Technology Management), Police Director Getulio P. Napeñas (Director, Special Action Force) and Police Director Melito M. Mabilin (Director, Civil Security Group).
Four of them were promoted to the rank of Police Chief Superintendent (Brigadier General), they are:
