Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff General Emmanuel Bautista on Saturday honored the 100 South Korean soldiers who have been carrying out humanitarian and relief assistance to survivors of super typhoon Yolanda in Leyte.
Bautista gave the members of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces Joint Support Group Philippines the Military Civic Action Medal in ceremonies at the foreign troops’ base camp in Barangay Candahug, Leyte, the AFP’s public information office said.
The AFP chief also volunteered to help lay the foundation of a house in Leyte as part of the military's participation in the annual “Bayani Challenge” of Gawad Kalinga.
