Uy said the New People’s Army (NPA), the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), will be commemorating its 45th founding anniversary on March 29, which usually preludes rebel attacks on military and police outposts.
Uy cited the attack on the Matanao Municipal Police Station in Davao Del Sur about 7:00 a.m. on Monday where two policemen were killed and three others wounded as the communist rebels desperate efforts to show their dwindling forces.
He said the communist rebels would always attack on military installations and the community of innocent civilians to pursue the group’s ideals of sowing terror.
The military, however, assures that the government troopers would always be around to secure the civilian community and its people, Uy added.
