Chief Supt. Josephus Angan on Wednesday assumed his post as Region 6 director of the Western Visayas police, the information office said.

Angan is the chief security aide of Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II who hails from the region.

Angan succeeded Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., former National Police spokesman, who is now assigned to Purisima’s office in Camp Crame headquarters.

Brigadier Gen. Ben Donato San Juan, a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Maharlika” Class of 1984, has been named commander of the Army’s Special Operations Command.

He was former commander of the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) based at Camp Tecson in Bulacan.

San Juan, one among several officers known as close to Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, assumed office on Wednesday.

The elite command is based at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija.

He replaced Maj. Gen. John Bonafos (PMA “Sandigan” Class 1982) who was earlier promoted chief of the Central Command based in Cebu City.

Replacing San Juan is Col. Ronnie Evangelista (PMA “Sinagtala” Class 1986.

Evangelista is also known close to Gazmin.
