From ABS-CBN (Dec 13): Barangay chairman in Zamboanga del Norte abducted
A barangay chairman in Zamboanga del Norte was abducted on Thursday evening.
Sibuco Mayor Bong Edding said Barangay Paniran chairman Cecile Alas-as was forcibly taken by a group of armed men at around 9 p.m.
Edding said the suspects fled with Alas-as on board a pump boat.
Meanwhile, a fishing boat owner only identified as "Cynthia" was also abducted in Sitio Palid, Barangay Magdaup, Ipil town at around 10 p.m. Thursday.
Police said the victim, who hails from Dipolog City, was forcibly taken by about 8 men near the shore of Sitios Saruk-Saruk and Palid.
