The ceremony will be replicated simultaneously in all of AFP’s unified camps nationwide.
The AFP chief-of-staff Gen. Emmanuel T. Bautista, Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process Secretary Teresita Q. Deles, and Philippine Country Director and Coordinator for Asia America Initiative, Bai Rohaniza Sumndad-Usman are expected to participate in the event.
They will be joined by over a thousand active and reserve personnel from the Army, Air Force and Navy, partner agencies and stakeholders, students, and key officials from the Philippine National Police (PNP).
An interfaith prayer followed by a pledge for peace will be conducted by the participants as well as the simultaneous singing of the peace songs; Sana, One More Gift, and One Big Family.
The AFP believes that this activity will help uplift the people’s spirit and inspire them to continue to root for peace amidst continuing conflicts and incidents of violence in the country, particularly in Zamboanga.
The activity which highlights the "National Peace Consciousness Month" serves as a reminder that transformation begins in the hearts of the Filipino people.
It brings the message that the work of nation-building and peace-building is the job and concern of everyone.
