The Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) is considering all options to lay siege of the well-entrenched mountain camp of the communist New People's Army (NPA) after it was determined that initial ground assault Thursday morning to noon had unclear results.

In the initial gunbattle Thursday, two policemen were injured.
As of early Friday, Limmong confirmed the two wounded members of an elite group of the Philippine National Police (PNP) are now out of danger.
”Each of our wounded personnel received P20,000 as initial assistance to buy their needs while hospitalized,” he said.
He clarified that the initial reports did not indicate any casualty on the part of the NPA “but we still have to verify in due time.”
Limmong said that the NPA camp strategically built within a remote secluded area in Sagada town was only discovered by the government troopers when they were fired upon by a group of heavily armed rebels numbering to 20 to 30.
Their escape routes in the follow-up operations, however, led to the discovery of the well-entrenched rebel camp.
Limmong assured the public of being updated of the government assault against the remnants of the rebels in the mountainous region.
He added the operations is part of the preparations of the PNP to assure a peaceful, honest and orderly barangay elections this October.
