From the Sun Star-Davao (Nov 5): Police hunt killers of fish vendor

POLICE are hunting down four armed men who allegedly killed a fish vendor on Km. 29 in Barangay Malabog, Paquibato District in Davao City on October 31. Chief Inspector Romeo Abler, head of Paquibato police station, identified the victim as Ranil Edaño Parilla, 34, of the same place. He was found dead inside the public market at around 3 p.m. Abler said the killers are believed to be members of Pulang Bagani Command (PBC) of the New People's Army (NPA) led by Ryan Pitao, son of Leoncio Pitao, alias Ka Paragu, but none so far could give their identities.... Before the men left, one of them said that Parilla was believed to be an "asset" of the Philippine Army's 10th Infantry Division. But Lieutenant Colonel Lyndon Paniza, spokesperson for the 10th Infantry Division, denied the victim was their informant. He said the division has its own intelligence personnel....
