While the Filipino revolutionary forces continue to exert efforts to push the Aquino regime to work for the resolution of the social roots of the raging armed conflict through peace negotiations, they are acutely aware that the prospects of forging a political settlement grows dimmer by the day as the reactionary Aquino government continues to veer sharply towards the path of puppetry to the US government, brutal militarism and rural oppression. The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) issued this statement in reaction to announcements by Malacañang yesterday that the Philippine government (GPH) intends to resume peace negotiations with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), a day after revealing that a “Framework Agreement” is set to be signed between the GPH and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF)....
