The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has introduced Wednesday a new information chief for the region.

In a recent order,
BARMM chief minister Ahod “Murad Ebrahim named Ameen Andrew Alonto as the new officer-in-charge of the region’s Bureau of Public Information (BPI).

The designation was made following plans to assign outgoing BARMM information chief, Dr. Norodin Salam to another post.

“I pray to Allah for his (Alonto) success in leading the office. I believe he will do great in performing his new role as executive director of BPI-BARMM, Salam said during Wednesday’s turnover ceremony held at the BPI-BARMM office.

Prior to his new designation, Alonto worked as an executive assistant at the BARMM’s Office of the Cabinet Secretary.

This came following his stint at the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) and the Regional Legislative Assembly of the defunct-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Alonto said he looks forward to working diligently with the BPI-BARMM people and hopes to bring in his years of experience in the peace process and communication work.

Salam pledged to always be available in assisting Alonto and the BPI office even if he is about to take on a new role in the BARMM government.

The BPI-BARMM covers all existing peace and development affairs of the region, which includes the province-components of Maguindanao, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Basilan and Lanao del Sur; the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi; and the 63 villages in six towns of North Cotabato.
