The Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) has tagged two units of Abu Sayyaf bandits as behind Friday’s attack at a military camp in Sulu that killed seven people.

Maj. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, newly-installed Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) chief, said the attack that also killed two suspected suicide bombers
was the handiwork of ASG leaders Radulan Sahiron and Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan.
Both ASG leaders are reportedly coddling foreign terrorists, Sobejana said, adding it was "public knowledge" that Sawadjaan has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State for Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terror group.

Seven people, including three soldiers, were killed while 22 others were wounded when two suspected suicide bombers attacked around noon Friday the headquarters of the Army’s 1st Brigade Combat Team in Sitio Tanjung, Barangay Kajatian, Indanan town.
Sobejana said three of the seven slain victims were soldiers, and two were civilians. The attack also wounded 12 soldiers and 10 civilians.

The military official condemned "to the highest term the terroristic act."

Meanwhile, Sobejana said are verifying whether the attackers were suicide bombers or just carriers of improvised bombs.

“Because if you say suicide bombing, they were the ones who exploded themselves, bringing the triggering mechanism,” he added.
