BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur- Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, Brgy Maharlika, Bislig City (Stn) – The 75th Infantry “Marauder” Battalion actively participated in the Joint Tree Planting activity initiated by City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO)- Bislig City held at Barangay Tagasaka, Hinatuan, SDS last June 25, 2019 at 7 o’clock
in the morning.

The environmental protection activity was participated by the personnel coming from Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Coronet Wood Industries, Inc, Local Government Unit of Hinatuan, Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Barangay Tagasaka, Municipal Police Station of Hinatuan, troops of 75IB
and other concerned individuals. Around 1,500 seedlings of assorted Mahogany and Mangium were planted at the hinter land of Barangay Tagasaka, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

The different government agencies willfully took their part to showcase commitments towards environmental protection and preservation activities. The continuous collaboration of these agencies with the support from the residents of Hinatuan and the province of Surigao del Sur shows great concern in protecting the environment.

The DENR in partnership with the security sector coming from 75IB and PNP in Surigao del Sur played a vital role in the implementation of anti-illegal logging activities through the conduct of joint patrols and checkpoints.

Hence, LTC Jaime R Datuin, the Commanding Officer of 75IB said, “Tree planting and tree growing is our own little way of helping alleviate the effects of climate change in our environment.” We really need to take care of our environment, this is for our good and the next generations to come”.My recognition also goes to all the personnel who participated in this noble activity especially to CENRO of Hinatuan for initiating this activity. Let us continue to join hands to protect our environment.” Datuin ended.
