Tago, Surigao del Sur – in close collaboration with the different government agencies in Surigao del Sur, Army’s 36 Infantry (Valor) Battalion in partnership with TESDA SDS holds another Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) meeting held at H36IB, Brgy Dayo-an, Tago, Surigao del Sur today June 26, 2019 at 9 o’clock in the morning.

The said meeting is in preparation of the different line agencies as member of the cluster in connection with the implementation and execution of projects, livelihood trainings for the former rebels and the locals of Sitio Ibuan, Brgy Mampi, Lanuza, Surigao del sur.

The event is line with the operationalization of President Rodrigo Duterte’s EO 70 that institutionalizes a “whole-of-nation” approach. It aims for the adoption of peace frame work to address the root causes of insurgency, internal disturbances and tensions and other armed conflict and threats. It also aims to prioritize and harmonize the delivery of basic services and social development package of the government by facilitating societal inclusivity, and ensuring active participation of all sectors of the society in the pursuit of the country’s peace agenda.

The activity was spearheaded by Dir Rey M Cueva, PD, TESDA-SDS, as the chairman of the PRLEC Cluster SDS with LTC Xerxes A Trinidad, CO, 36IB together with the participation of different line agencies from the Provincial Police Office (PPO) SDS, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), Department of Agriculture (DA), Office of the Provincial Agriculture (OPAg), Landbank of the Philippines (LBP), National Irrigation Authority (NIA) and National Food Authority (NFA).

In his statement, LTC XERXES A TRINIDAD INF (GSC) PA said, “I am deeply grateful with the commitment of the different agencies in contributing and giving their time for this significant event. The convergence of all agencies is a key factor in addressing the insurgency. Thru this effort, we hope for a conflict resilient community and ready to accept the challenges of attaining a just and lasting peace in the province”.

“To the remaining CNTs, join us and surrender now. This is the time for you to embrace the government and be reunited with your families. Avail the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government”, LTC Trinidad added.

Sitio Ibuan is identified by the cluster as its pilot community in the Province of Surigao del Sur for the implementation of EO 70.
