The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through the Philippine Air Force Bids and Awards Committee, is allocating the sum of PHP71,518,000 for the acquisition of spare parts needed for the scheduled maintenance of one of its W-3A "Sokol" helicopters.

The aircraft slated for maintenance is "Sokol" helicopter with tail number 925, the bid bulletin posted at the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System said.

Deadline and submission of bids and opening is slated to be held at the PAF Procurement Center Conference Room, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City at 9:15 a.m. on March 5. Prospective bidders should have an experience in similar projects within the past five years.

"The Philippine Air Force reserves the right to reject any and all bids, declare a failure of bidding, or not award the contract at any time prior to contract award in accordance with Section 41 of Republic Act 9184 and its IRR, without thereby incurring any liability to the affected bidder or bidders," PAF Bids and Awards Committee chair, Brig. Gen. Ferynl Buca, said in the bid bulletin.

The Philippines acquired its eight W-3A "Sokol" from the joint venture of Polish manufacturer PZL-Swidnik and British-Italian firm AugustaWestland for PHP2.8 billion.

The helicopters arrived in three batches, starting February and November 2012 and February 2013.
