The official turnover of power to the newly established Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) took place today at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, ORG Compound, Cotabato City.
In a simple ceremony, ARMM Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, turned-over the administration, personnel at assets of the ARMM to the BARMM interim Chief Minister Al Hajj Murad Ebrahim in the presence of ARMM officials, members of the Bangsamoro Parliament, MILF and MNLF officials, officers of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (MILF-BIAF), employees of Bangsamoro Transition Commission, and other important personalities.

The turn-over was witnessed by OPAPP Sec. Carlito Galvez,Jr.

Al Haj Murad chairs the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which signed the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) on August 27, 2016 aimed at ending the Moro insurgency in Southern Mindanao that started in 1968.

“The transition into the BARMM would also entail that political appointees in the area will have to end their terms as they will be replaced by ministers,” Al Haj Murad said as quoted by GMA News in its report.

Luwaran was provided with an initial list of MILF Ministers given key positions by the CM Al Haj Murad in his cabinet, such as:

1. Al Haj Murad Ebrahim-concurrent Minister of Public Works

2. Mohagher M. Iqbal- Minister of Basic, Higher Education, and technical Education

3. Abdulrauf Macacua-Minister of Environment, Natural resources and Energy

4. Arch. Edward Guerra- Minister of Finance, Budget and Management-

5. Atty. Raissa Jajurie- Minister of Social Services

6. Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo-Minister of Local Government

7. Dr. Safrullah Dipatuan- Minister of Health

8. Husssien Muñoz-Minister of Public Order and Safety

9. Mohammad Suaib Ya’cob-Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform

10. Melanio Ulama- Minister for Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs

Meanwhile, MILF 1st Vice Chairman, and Chair of the BTC Ghazali Jaafar has been appointed Speaker of the Parliament, while Aleem Ali Pangalian Solaiman was appointed as Deputy Chief Minister.

Appointed as Executive Secretary/ies are siblings Ismael Pasigan, and Em Pasigan.

Alvin Yasser Abdulgaffar was appointed Executive Secretary, with Abdullah Cusain as Asst. Executive Secretary.

Atty. Sha Elijah Dumam-Alba, daughter of DOH-Region XII Regional Director Abdullah Dumama, Jr was appointed Bangsamoro Attorney General, while Engr. Muhajirin Ali was appointed Head of the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO).

Few days from now, CM Al Haj Murad will also announce other appointees to the BARMM.
