From GMA News (May 6): Suspected NPA guerrillas storm Bukidnon security agency office

Suspected New People's Army guerrillas raided an office of a security and investigation agency in Bukidnon province in Mindanao and made off with high-powered fire arms and other materiel.

Citing information from the Army brigade commander, GMA News reported Saturday morning that some 30 armed men wearing police uniforms stormed the Davao Security and Investigation Agency (DASIA) branch office in Juanila Village in Poblacion, Valencia City, Bukidnon at about 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The attackers carted away two AK-47 rifles, 1 M16 rifle, 3 shotguns and three cal-.38 hand guns.

An initial police investigation showed that about 15 armed men in regular police uniform entered the DASIA office, brandishing a fake search warrant.

They seized TSG Joseph Paredes of 4MIB, 4ID of the Philippine Army and disarmed PO1 Traya of the Maramag Municipal Police Station, seizing his 9mm Gloc service firearm. Later, the soldier was released unharmed.

Another group of attackers, in police camouflage uniform, manned a roadblock outside the DASIA premises and flagged passing vehicles.

After the raid, the group of about 30 armed men in all fled using two DASIA armored vans, a black Toyota Hilux pickup truck, and two motorcycles (a Yamaha DT and a Honda XR). motorcycles.
