A MEDIC of the New People’s Army (NPA) was arrested after troops of 25th Infantry Battalion and Compostela Valley Provincial Police Office raided the meeting place of the SPARU unit in Barangay Mainit, Nabunturan on Thursday around 9:30 p.m.
The suspect was identified as Divina Canoy, who belonged to Section Committee 27, Southern Mindanao Regional Command in Mainit.

They were able also to recover two M16 rifles; one M4 rifle; one Carbine rifle; Claymore mines (IED); estimated 30 kilos of 10mm cut round bars (IED shrapnel); electrical wires and subversive documents.
“We received information so we immediately reacted. The information proved to be correct, which resulted to the arrest,” Lt. Col Ismael P. Mandanas, commander of 25th Infantry Battalion, told TIMES yesterday.
Canoy is now in the custody of Nabunturan Municipal Police Station.
