Col. Juvymax R. Uy was appointed the new commanding officer
of Task Force Zamboanga during short ceremonies Friday afternoon.
The said unit is affiliated with the Zamboanga City-based
1st Infantry Division.
He replaced Col. Nixon M. Fortes who is the concurrent
deputy commander of the 1002nd Infantry Brigade which has operational
jurisdiction in the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga Del Sur.
1st Infantry Division commander Major Gen. Gerardo F.
Barrientos, Jr. presided over the 2 p.m. ceremony.
Uy held various positions at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio ,
Taguig City prior to his assumption as the 16th
commander of Task Force Zamboanga.
He is a member of Philippine Military Academy “Makatao”
Class of 1989.
