Malacanang on Tuesday said authorities continue to check all
information that would help them determine the whereabouts of a Filipino and
two foreigners who were reportedly abducted in Davao del Norte just before
midnight Monday.
In a briefing, Presidential Communications Operations Office
(PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said members of the Philippine National
Police (PNP) anti-kidnapping group is now in touch with the Eastern Mindanao
Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and other agencies to run
after the suspects.
He said the Police Regional Office in Region 11 has not
given any update except that they continue to do their best to save the
victims, who were seized in a resort in Samal Island .
"Yung PNP, AFP at iba pang government agencies
concerned are taking the initiative to do what is needed at mino-monitor ng
Pangulo (Benigno Aquino III) ito dahil talaga namang sinusubaybayan niya ang
mga mahahalagang kaganapan sa bansa (The PNP, AFP and other concerned government
agencies are taking the initiative to do what is needed. The President is also
monitoring this because he is really checking on important events in the
country)," he added.
