Fort Magsaysay to send 120 new soldiers to Mindanao

From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 25): Fort Magsaysay to send 120 new soldiers to Mindanao
 
FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija --The Philippine Army's 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division (7ID) will send 120 fresh graduate soldiers to various units in Mindanao soon.

Capt. Mark Ruelos, information officer, said the 120 privates who will be deployed in Mindanao belong to the total 280 soldiers who graduated last January 29, this year.

The departure ceremony which exact date has yet to be disclosed will be attended by families, relatives, friends, officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees from this command.

Major General Glorioso V. Miranda, 7ID commander, will lead the send-off ceremony.

Each infantry battalion will be given 40 privates to improve its strength--the 69th Infantry Ballation based in Barangay Dalisay, Panabo City, Davao del Norte, 71st Infantry Battalion at Barangay Pangibiran, Mabini Compostela Valley and 84th Infantry Battalion at Barangay Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City.

After the departure ceremony, the privates will be transported this camp to Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

Then they will be transported by C-130 from Villamor Air Base to Davao City.

Miranda said that soldiery is a noble profession as such each soldier should be prepared to be assigned to the different parts of the Philippines in serving the people and securing the land.

He expressed belief on the importance of the family, relatives and loved ones to support the soldiers, especially those assigned in Mindanao.
