From the Philippine News Agency (Oct 30): TFD to deploy troops during
'Undas'
The Task Force Davao (TFD) will also deploy personnel to augment the forces of
the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and the Traffic Management Center (TMC) to
secure cemeteries during the All Saints Day and All Souls Day on Nov. 1 and 2.
Lt. Col. Jerry Besana, TFD executive officer, said its Task Force Agila and
Anti-Crime Unit are force multipliers for “Oplan Kaluluwa” to see to it that
banned materials and prohibited acts in cemeteries are properly observed.
Besana told reporters attending the weekly Tri-Media Organization for Peace
and Alliance in Mindanao Inc. (TROPA) Tuesday that the troop deployment will
include motorcycle-riding soldiers to monitor the people entering and leaving
the big cemeteries like Wireless Cemetery, San Pedro Memorial Park, Davao
Memorial Park, Buhangin Memorial Park, Panacan and Tibungco public cemeteries.
He said they will also conduct checkpoints in designated areas.
