From the Philippine Star (Oct 30): Female rebel nabbed in Western Visayas for murdering officer

A suspected female member of the communist New People's Army (NPA) who is allegedly involved in the killing of a military official was arrested this evening in Negros Occidental, a senior police officer said. Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Police Director of Western Visayas identified the woman rebel as Sarah Alvarez, who is a regional member of the NPA group led by certain Frank Fernandez. According to Mr. Cruz, the suspect was nabbed by police and military personnel in Cadiz City. She was the subject of an arrest warrant for the murder of 1st Lieutenant Archie Polenzo of the 62nd Infantry Battalion in March 2010.
