From the Philippine Information Agency (Oct 24): Peace, dev't efforts in Comval brgy to continue despite attack
The military has tightened the security in Brgy. Calabcab, Maco, Compostela Valley after the attack of some 60 members of the New People’s Army (NPA). The clash happened Sunday at 11:45 a.m., which left two rebels dead and nine persons, comprising seven soldiers and two residents, wounded. Lieutenant Col. Jerry Borja, commander of the 71st Infantry Battalion, said the peace and development effort of government will continue as additional troops are reinforced to conduct pursuit operation and prevent further attacks by the rebels. He attributed the attack to the front committee two of the NPA.
