CPP also ordered the NPA to step up attacks in the wake of an announcement by President Aquino that his administration is again ready to go back to the negotiating table with the National Democratic Front (NDF), the negotiating arm of the CPP-NPA.... Reacting to the CPP order, the Army spokesman, Maj. Harold Cabunoc, said the military is always ready to repel attacks and decimate rebel forces at all times. “The use of violence to seek justice is not the right avenue in a democratic country. The Army is always ready to protect civilian communities, government installations and our own soldiers against any armed threats,” Cabunoc said....
