A Chinese flag has been mounted on a sand cay located seven nautical miles off Kota Island in the West Philippines Sea, Magdalo Partylist Rep. Gary Alejano said on Tuesday.
In a press conference at the House of Representatives, Alejano alleged that the Chinese flag was discovered in the third week of July and was planted by a Chinese vessel on a sand cay near a Philippine-owned island.
“According to the information that I received, a Chinese flag mounted on a steel pipe was discovered planted on a sand cay located seven nautical miles northeast off Kota Island,” Alejano said.
“It was discovered around the third week of July 2017. A Chinese vessel allegedly erected the said three-meter high Chinese flag on a sand cay which is known to be within a Philippine-controlled area,” he added.
Alejano expressed concern over the continuous activities of China in the disputed waters in the West Philippine Sea.
“These recently reported incidents only reveal that Chinese activities in the West Philippine Sea have not stopped amid warmer relations between the Philippines and China,” Alejano said.
In a separate interview, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said that the department has taken all diplomatic actions necessary within the conflict areas.
Cayetano also said the department will inform the public if the situation should be a cause for alarm.
“So let me assure you that despite the lack of details that we give you, we will tell you if there’s an alarming situation, or if the public is in danger, or if we are going to take or step up certain actions that need the public’s support or at the very least knowledge,” Cayetano said.
The DFA chief reiterated the Duterte administration has been consistent with its efforts to uphold the country’s territorial claims, as well as its claims for sovereignty and economic rights.
“We’re not giving up a single inch of our territory,” Cayetano said.

The BMT Class 2017 Charlie is programmed to undergo training in a span of four (4) months. During their stay, the CS will be subjected to a series of rigorous training which will surely test not only their physical abilities, mental toughness but also their emotional responses as well. The set of training programs will definitely transform each individual to solely obtain the basic knowledge with an immovable attitude that is required in serving the military.

BONIFACIO NAVAL STATION, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila (DWDD) – The Naval Safety Office (NSO) facilitated the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Determining Control (HIRADC) seminar-workshop attended by around 50 participants coming from different Philippine Navy (PN) units on Aug. 9 to 11 at Bonifacio Naval Station (BNS), Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Two former NSO directors, Capt. Restituto Q. Bilbao, Jr., currently the Commander of BNS; and retired Navy Captain Mario C. Royena, shared their learning experience to the safety officers of different PN units who attended the first day of the activity. Relevant Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) such as the PN Grounding and Other Unusual Incidents Review Board, HIRADC, and Motorcycle Safety Driving were discussed. Also, scenario-based exercises on safety management were undertaken to determine their level of proficiency.
On the succeeding days of the seminar-workshop, PN officers and enlisted personnel who are yet to undergo training on HIRADC were accommodated. They underwent thorough exercise in the identification of different potential hazards in work area, the process of HIRADC, and risk assessment and control that will help eliminate, minimize or mitigate accidents in the workplace. Also, institutions accredited by the Department of Labor and Employment facilitated lectures and group discussions.
The activity culminated in a simple ceremony with the Chief of Naval Staff as keynote speaker represented by the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff for Operations, N3, Capt. Roy Vincent T. Trinidad. NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Roxas Blvd, Manila (DWDD) – As part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’s commitment and adherence to International Humanitarian Law (IHL), the Philippine Navy (PN), through the PN Human Rights Office (PNHRO), actively took part in the series of activities in line with the commemoration of the 2017 IHL Month celebration with the theme: “The Advancement of IHL is the Shared Responsibility of All, Pagsulong ng International Humanitarian Law, Pananagutan ng Lahat”.
On August 7, the Acting Chief, PNHRO, Capt. Primitivo S. Decio Jr, led the recitation of the AFP Soldiers pledge of reaffirmation of commitment and support to IHL during the Flag Raising Ceremony at Headquarters Philippine Navy.
On the same day, the PNHRO attended the International Humanitarian Law Seminar-Workshop and Symposium on Internally Displaced Persons hosted by the Department of Education (DepEd) at the Department of Education Central Office, Bulwagan ng Karunungan, Meralco Ave., Pasig City.
PN personnel from different units also joined the Run For Humanity on August 12 at Liwasang Ullalim in CCP Complex hosted by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Pasay City Chapter. This yearly fun run was also participated by different government organizations, stakeholders, and IHL Ad hoc committee members.
Lastly, PNHRO attended a Flag Raising Ceremony at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City on August 14. It was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony for the photo exhibit and showing of IHL video clips entitled “Rules of War” and “Emblems”. MINDANAO (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of thePhilippines, through the Joint Task Force Marawi will be allowing residents to return to their homes in seven (7) barangays in Marawi City.
This was confirmed by LTC Emmanuel Garcia of JTF Marawi, who stated that the said barangays is situated around the Mindanao State University campus in Marawi City.
They will be allowing residents to go back to the seven barangays on august 22 to coincide with the start of classes at MSU. To help normalize the situation, the MSU community, the Local Government Unit, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and management Office, the AFP, and the PNP conducted Brigada Eskwela.
Garcia added that they need to protect the well-being MSU and its community because the school is considered as an institution an symbol fo the city.

ASUNCION, Davao del Norte (DWDD) – Two members of Guerilla Front 34 of the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee, New People’s Army voluntarily surrendered with their firearms in Laak, Compostela Valley Province on Saturday (August 12).
Alias Nicky and alias Pido, both 18 years old and residents of Brgy. Melali, Laak, CVP, voluntarily submitted themselves to the joint elements of the Charlie Company of 60th Infantry Battalion and the Delta Company, 72nd Infantry Battalion with the help of the local tribal chieftains who are also CAFGU Active Auxiliaries in Brgy. Datu Ampunan, Laak. The two surrendered with their issued M16 rifles.
Nicky and Pido are both new recruits, having entered the NPA only last August 1, 2017. The NPA, however, have been utilizing Nicky as a supply errand boy since 2016.
Accordingly, both Nicky and Pido decided to leave their respective groups because of the hardships they have encountered in their two weeks of operating in the hinterlands and evading military troops. Both complained about having to bring the heavy belongings of their leaders and senior members and walking several miles every day even without food.
Nicky recalls that some of the older NPA seemed to despise them because of their status, “We were being mistreated by the other members since we were new.” The two thinks that the others were jealous because they were immediately issued their rifles despite not having “proper training” in handling firearms. “But we were already lacking members; that’s why we were already given our guns,” Nicky said in the vernacular.
The two added that while their leaders seem to relish on their extorted money, the rest of the group are left without food and other necessary supplies.
Both Nicky and Pido are members of the Dibabawon tribe. They also claim to be students of Caraga Heart Mine School Foundation located at Brgy. Capda, Loreto, Agusan del Sur.
The two have already been brought to the hospital for physical and medical examination. The LGU has also committed to provide the necessary assistance to aid them as they return to their normal lives.
The two are now undergoing custodial interview.
Months earlier, at least 50 NPA members from Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley have also voluntarily surrendered to 60IB.

Emmanuel Canilla says that military operations will be continuously conducted in areas threatened by the NPA criminals. “Our campaign to end the criminal acts of the NPA shall continue and will only intensify as we reach the point of success. This has been our mandate ever since and it is now even more emphasized in this time of Martial Law. These surrenders are proof that our efforts are gaining momentum and, for as far as our legal orders can cover, we do not intend to stop.”
Canilla also emphasized that this trend of surrenders proves contrary to the claims of NPA partisans which cites soldiers’ torturing and abusing of captured and surrendering rebels. “Our soldiers value the rights of all our people regardless of belief or association. We shall not lose hope in giving these victims of communist deception a chance to return to the folds of the law and back in the arms of their families and love ones.”

CAMP OSITO D. BAHIAN (DWDD) – As part of its commemoration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples (IP) and the International Humanitarian Law Month, the 403rd Infantry “Peacemaker” Brigade of the Army’s 4th Infantry Division conducted Medical and Dental Civic Action Programs in the IP dominated areas in the province of Bukidnon.
In partnership with Team Jesus-Hearts for Tribes Philippines Incorporated, World Wildlife Fund-Philippines, Local Government Units, 8th Infantry Battalion and 1st Special Forces Battalion, the activities were conducted at Brgy. Zamboanguita, Malaybalay City on August 10, 2017, Brgy. Iba, Cabanglasan, Bukidnon on August 11, 2016, and Brgy. Miarayon, Talakag, Bukidnon on August 12, 2017.
In totality, some 2,877 local residents and tribesmen benefited from the free services which include medical consultation, tooth extraction, circumcision, giving of medicines, eye check up, and giving of eye glasses. The World Wildlife Fund-Philippines also gave books about preserving mother nature to the Lumad children, while the soldiers offered free haircut services and porridge feeding.
The activity showcased the 403rd Infantry Brigade’s commitment to continuously serve the people, especially the less fortunate, through its partnership with various government and non-government organizations, all in the pursuit for peace.

CAMP OSITO D. BAHIAN (DWDD) – As part of its commemoration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples (IP) and the International Humanitarian Law Month, the 403rd Infantry “Peacemaker” Brigade of the Army’s 4th Infantry Division conducted Medical and Dental Civic Action Programs in the IP dominated areas in the province of Bukidnon.
In partnership with Team Jesus-Hearts for Tribes Philippines Incorporated, World Wildlife Fund-Philippines, Local Government Units, 8th Infantry Battalion and 1st Special Forces Battalion, the activities were conducted at Brgy. Zamboanguita, Malaybalay City on August 10, 2017, Brgy. Iba, Cabanglasan, Bukidnon on August 11, 2016, and Brgy. Miarayon, Talakag, Bukidnon on August 12, 2017.
In totality, some 2,877 local residents and tribesmen benefited from the free services which include medical consultation, tooth extraction, circumcision, giving of medicines, eye check up, and giving of eye glasses. The World Wildlife Fund-Philippines also gave books about preserving mother nature to the Lumad children, while the soldiers offered free haircut services and porridge feeding.
The activity showcased the 403rd Infantry Brigade’s commitment to continuously serve the people, especially the less fortunate, through its partnership with various government and non-government organizations, all in the pursuit for peace.

CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Department of National Defense (DND) is studying the possibility of acquiring medium-sized armoured vehicles to augment its current units.
According to Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, they are looking into getting tanks / armoured vehicles weighing 20 tons or less, with medium-caliber cannons, but capable of breaching concrete walls compared to the heavy 40-ton tanks
Sec Lorenzana added that they this type of armoured carriers could fit well the needs of our Armed Forces in dealing with Urban Warfare, like in what is transpiring in Marawi City where the ISIS-inspired Maute terror group seized most of the city and used dwellings and high-rise structures as base of operations, logistics, machine gun nest and sniper positions.
Although he hopes that a Marawi-type conflict will be avoided in the future, any such events will not necessitate the acquisition of a heavy battle tank fleet, but medium tanks would suffice in any urban warfare and for training.
Our Mechanized Infantry Division has in its inventory the Armoured Infantry fighting Vehicle M113A1, the M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers, M706 Commando Vehicle, Scorpion Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance, and the Simba Fighting Vehicle.

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao– The League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO) is one of the strongest net-work of networks of Moro Non-Government Organizations founded in the southern part of Philippines in 2014. It aims to reach out on other Bangsamoro organizations in the country for unity, solidarity and peace.
In their 2nd General Assembly on August 19 and 20 this year, they chose a new set of officers.
Hashim Manticayan, who was elected as new President said that LBO is composed of 64-member organizations. In his report, among the significant major achievements of LBO was the holding of two-consecutive Bangsamoro Leaders’ Peace Summit in support to the ongoing peace process. Manticayan is the chair and represents the Muslim Youth Brotherhood (MYB) to LBO. The assembly had elected Yusoph Lumambas as the LBOs’ Vice President for Internal Affairs.
Lumambas is the Secretary-General of the United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD). The Vice President for External Affairs is the Board of Trustees (BOT) chair of the Bangsamoro Communication Network (BCN) Emran Mohammad, who formerly chaired the Supreme Council.
Lumambas disclosed that there are 10 newly elected officers coming from member-organization including 5 seats for the founding member organizations that constitute the Supreme Council with the role of formulating policy directions for LBO.
“The LBO has identifed programs and services that suit to the needs of the league and the communities. It also formed relevant committees to work voluntarily for the attainment of LBOs common vision,” he said.
“The presentation of accomplishments, amendment of LBO Constitution and by-Laws, and election of officers were held in Cotabato City last Friday. And the second day of the assembly was conducted on Sunday in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao attended by more than 500 participants,” said Lumambas.
At the conclusion of the activity on the second day, the LBO released a manifesto urging the government to pass the BTC-crafted new Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) immediately.

The book gave a glance on how the peace process between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) moved on and succeeded in the signing of two political documents, the FAB and the CAB, especially from a perspective of a Third-Party Facilitator.

DATU PAGLAS-MAGUINDANAO- The Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) 109th Base Command of the Moro Islamic liberation Front in partnership with the local government of Datu Paglas, Maguindanao conducted peace advocacy with the theme “let us unite, uphold and support Bangsamoro Basic Law 2017 towards Winning Just and Dignified, Peace and Development’’ yesterday , August 19, 2017 at Datu Paglas Gym.
Hon. Abubakar P. Paglas, Mayor of Datu Paglas, Maguindanao exhibited a presentation that tells about “Understanding violent extremism in Mindanao: a case Study.”
He said “I am reminding you parents, be watchful to the ten local terrorist based in the Philippines that will continue to recruit young people to be part of them and convince them in exchange of money.
He also said that in mainland Mindanao the local terrorists will recruit college students, higher level students of madrasah, young idealistic with potential leadership and those that belong to the middle class families.
In the island province, they recruit young, poor and with less education, usually children and relatives of MNLF and MILF fighters most of whom suffered from loss of family members due to conflict.
Towards the end of his presentation, he emphasized that the Municipality of Datu Paglas is committed extend full support to the peace process between the GPH and MILF.
Esmael A. Abdula, BLMI Steering Committee member, Concurrently President of Kalilintad Peacebuilding Institute Inc.(KPI) spoke on Updates on GPH-MILF Peace Process and the Status of the draft BBL 2017.
He said, the problem of Bangsamoro people have gained international sympathy and support after
the signing of two major political documents (FAB and CAB) between the GPH and the MILF.
And lastly, he quoted President Rodrigo R. Duterte who said, “Nothing can appease the Moro people except to correct the historical injustices committed against them.
1Lt Marc P. Fernandez (INF) PA, Commander of Bravo Company, 33rd IB of 6ID explained the Comparison between the Martial Law of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos and that of President Duterte.
Fernandez said “that there is a suspension of writ of habeas corpus where suspected violators of state can be arrested without warrant of arrest. He also said that the only authorized persons to carry firearms are members of AFP and PNP”. However, Local Government Units and that of Civil Courts shall continue to function without interference from the national government.
Lastly he said, “Let us unite to eliminate extremism in our country.

Nitong nakaraang Hulyo 22 ng taong kasalukuyan, naganap ang isang engkwentro sa pagitan ng AFP at NPA sa Brgy. Sorioan, Salcedo, Ilocos Sur. Sa mga pahayag ng militar, 5 ang nasugatan sa hanay ng AFP at isang babaeng NPA diumano ang napatay sa nasabing labanan. Samantala, sa pahayag ng Alfredo Cesar Command ng NPA at kwento ng mga magsasaka at mga taga-baryo, 10 ang kumpirmadong patay sa hanay ng AFP sa ilalim ng 81st Infantry Battalion (IB) samantalang wala namang naitalang kaswalti ang NPA. Ang ACC ang unit ng NPA na kumikilos sa probinsya ng Ilocos Sur.
Makalipas ang dalawang araw, 6 na magsasaka mula sa Brgy. Baybayading, Salcedo, Ilocos Sur ang iligal na inaresto ng mga tropa ng AFP noong Hulyo 25. Ayon sa pahayag ng mga magsasaka, inaresto sila ng mga sundalo dahil nilabag daw nila ang batas hinggil sa pagbabawal sa mga sibilyan sa mga encounter site. Pinakawalan din ang mga magsasaka sa araw ding yun matapos gamitin ang mga ito bilang human shield ng mga tropa ng AFP.
Ang kalakhan ng miyembro ng NPA ay nagmula sa hanay ng mga mahihirap na magsasaka at mamamayan. Sa rehiyon ng Ilocos, nagpapatuloy at mas sumasahol pa nga ang pyudal at malapyudal na pagsasamantala sa mga magsasaka at mamamayan. Ang kawalan ng sariling lupang sinasaka ng mayorya ng mga magsasaka sa rehiyon at kakulangan ng tulong at serbisyo mula sa pamahalaan ang nagtutulak sa napakaraming bilang ng mga magsasaka at mamamayan sa Ilocos na tumangan ng armas at magrebolusyon.
Sa ganitong kalagayan, kung saan tanging pagpatay at pananakot lamang ang alam na solusyon ng gobyernong namamayani sa ilalim ni Duterte, hindi nakapagtataka ang patuloy na paglakas at pagdami ng mandirigma ng NPA at ng buong rebolusyonaryong kilusan lalo na sa rehiyon.
Hindi na nakagugulat na mga mahihirap na magsasaka, mamamayan, mga sibilyan at di-armado ang pag-iinitan ng mga pasitang tropa ng AFP at PNP sa mga ganitong panahon at kalagayan. Suportado ng malawak na mamamayan ang rebolusyong inilulunsad ng NPA sa gabay ng Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP).
Ang NPA ang nakapagtataguyod ng kahilingan at karapatan ng mamamayan. Ang NPA ang nakapagbibigay ng mga serbisyong medikal at literasiya sa mga baryo at komunidad na kinalimutan na at pinagkakaitan ng mga lokal na pamahalaan. Ang NPA ang tumutulong sa mga magsasaka upang pataasin ang kanilang produksyon sa kanilang mga sakahan.
Hindi na nakagugulat ang pasismong iwinawasiwas ng gobyerno sa mamamayan dahil sa pagmamahal nito sa kanilang mga Pulang Mandirigma. Walang pag-iimbot naman itong sinusuklian ng mga mandirigma ng NPA at walang sawa rin nitong ipagtatanggol ang mamamayan laban sa atake ng mga pasista.
Sa kasalukuyan kung saan nagbabadya ang deklarasyon ng Batas Militar sa buong bansa, tiyak na mauulit lamang ang nangyari sa panahon ng diktador na si Marcos—lalong lalakas at ibayong darami ang NPA.

Nitong nakaraang Hulyo 22 ng taong kasalukuyan, naganap ang isang engkwentro sa pagitan ng AFP at NPA sa Brgy. Sorioan, Salcedo, Ilocos Sur. Sa mga pahayag ng militar, 5 ang nasugatan sa hanay ng AFP at isang babaeng NPA diumano ang napatay sa nasabing labanan. Samantala, sa pahayag ng Alfredo Cesar Command ng NPA at kwento ng mga magsasaka at mga taga-baryo, 10 ang kumpirmadong patay sa hanay ng AFP sa ilalim ng 81st Infantry Battalion (IB) samantalang wala namang naitalang kaswalti ang NPA. Ang ACC ang unit ng NPA na kumikilos sa probinsya ng Ilocos Sur.
Makalipas ang dalawang araw, 6 na magsasaka mula sa Brgy. Baybayading, Salcedo, Ilocos Sur ang iligal na inaresto ng mga tropa ng AFP noong Hulyo 25. Ayon sa pahayag ng mga magsasaka, inaresto sila ng mga sundalo dahil nilabag daw nila ang batas hinggil sa pagbabawal sa mga sibilyan sa mga encounter site. Pinakawalan din ang mga magsasaka sa araw ding yun matapos gamitin ang mga ito bilang human shield ng mga tropa ng AFP.
Ang kalakhan ng miyembro ng NPA ay nagmula sa hanay ng mga mahihirap na magsasaka at mamamayan. Sa rehiyon ng Ilocos, nagpapatuloy at mas sumasahol pa nga ang pyudal at malapyudal na pagsasamantala sa mga magsasaka at mamamayan. Ang kawalan ng sariling lupang sinasaka ng mayorya ng mga magsasaka sa rehiyon at kakulangan ng tulong at serbisyo mula sa pamahalaan ang nagtutulak sa napakaraming bilang ng mga magsasaka at mamamayan sa Ilocos na tumangan ng armas at magrebolusyon.
Sa ganitong kalagayan, kung saan tanging pagpatay at pananakot lamang ang alam na solusyon ng gobyernong namamayani sa ilalim ni Duterte, hindi nakapagtataka ang patuloy na paglakas at pagdami ng mandirigma ng NPA at ng buong rebolusyonaryong kilusan lalo na sa rehiyon.
Hindi na nakagugulat na mga mahihirap na magsasaka, mamamayan, mga sibilyan at di-armado ang pag-iinitan ng mga pasitang tropa ng AFP at PNP sa mga ganitong panahon at kalagayan. Suportado ng malawak na mamamayan ang rebolusyong inilulunsad ng NPA sa gabay ng Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP).
Ang NPA ang nakapagtataguyod ng kahilingan at karapatan ng mamamayan. Ang NPA ang nakapagbibigay ng mga serbisyong medikal at literasiya sa mga baryo at komunidad na kinalimutan na at pinagkakaitan ng mga lokal na pamahalaan. Ang NPA ang tumutulong sa mga magsasaka upang pataasin ang kanilang produksyon sa kanilang mga sakahan.
Hindi na nakagugulat ang pasismong iwinawasiwas ng gobyerno sa mamamayan dahil sa pagmamahal nito sa kanilang mga Pulang Mandirigma. Walang pag-iimbot naman itong sinusuklian ng mga mandirigma ng NPA at walang sawa rin nitong ipagtatanggol ang mamamayan laban sa atake ng mga pasista.
Sa kasalukuyan kung saan nagbabadya ang deklarasyon ng Batas Militar sa buong bansa, tiyak na mauulit lamang ang nangyari sa panahon ng diktador na si Marcos—lalong lalakas at ibayong darami ang NPA.

Sa panahon nga makaangkon ang mga pwersa sa AFP/ PNP og mga kaswalti bunga sa pagkaigo sa CDX sa BHB dihadiha dayong magtagawtaw ang ilang mga tigpamaba ug mga opisyal nga migamit kuno ang mga Pulang manggugubat og landmine. Nahisupak kuno ang BHB sa internasyonal nga kasabutan ug sa CARHRIHL nga nagdili na sa paggamit og landmine.
Sumala sa kahulugan, ang landmine mao ang aktibong explosibo nga gisulod sa kaha nga plastic o puthaw, gilubong sa yuta ug mobuto sa iyang kaugalingon sa higayon nga matumban sa tawo o maagian sa sakyanan. Kaylap kining ginagamit sa mga imperyalistang manunulong panahon sa Una ug Ikaduhang Gubat sa Kalibutan, Vietnam War, gubat sa Cambodia, Africa ug uban pa. Ang landmine kaniadto maoy usa sa mga hinagiban sa gubat sa mga pagpanulong ug pagkontrol sa mga nasud.
Gigamit kini nag-una alang sa pagdepensa sa ilang mga teritoryo aron kun adunay moatake may mobusikad bisan walay pwersa. Tungod sa kadaghang gilubong niini sa yuta ug dagat daghang mga sibilyan ang nabiktima tungod sa pagbuto sa wala na ma-recover nga gipangtaod nga landmine.
Sa pagkusog sa internasyonal nga kampanya batok sa mga imperyalistang pagpanulong, giduso sa daghang nasud ug organisasyon ang pagdili na sa paggamit sa landmine. Niadtong Disyembre 4, 1997 didto sa Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, napirmahan ang Mine Ban Treaty o Ottawa Treaty sa usa ka convention. Ang nag-unang unod sa internasyonal nga kasabutan mao ang pag-imposar sa paglimita sa paggamit sa landmine apan dili absolutong giwala. Wala mopirma niini ang US, Russia, China ug uban pa. Rason sa China nga ginagamit nila ang landmine sa ilang mga boundary isip depensa.
Busa subay sa kinaiya sa landmine nga gigamit sa niagi ug sa gidili sa Ottawa Treaty walay nasupak ang BHB sa paggamit sa CDX. Una, ang CDX usa ka klase sa gamay nga bomba nga gipabuto pinaagi sa operitor, batok sa military target. Dili tinuod nga landmine kini nga mobuto lang sa iyang kaugalingon.

Ang pagtagawtaw karon sa AFP ilabina sa 402nd Bde kabahin sa land mine resulta sa 7 ka patay ug 10 ka samaron nga nahiagoman sa mga pwersa sa 7th SF coy 3rd SFB sa usa ka ambus nga gilunsad sa BHB-Front 19 didto sa Buringon, Marihatag, Surigao del Sur niadtong Agusto 15, 2017. Nakaangkon ang 3rd SFB og ubay-ubay nga kaswalti tungod kay nasabak sila sa gitaod nga mga CDX.
Tukma lang nga mogamit ang BHB-NEMR sa mga CDX isip dugang kusog niini batok sa dakung pwersa sa AFP nga nangatake nga may kusgang armas, may back-up pa nga artileriya ug air force ug may dakung pundo sa rekurso.
