From the Visayan Daily Star (Jul 29, 2023): Armed NPA rebel surrenders (By GILBERT P. BAYORAN)
One of the remnants of the dismantled New People’s Army South East Front has surrendered on July 27, to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 in Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental, also turning over a caliber .38 revolver.PCol. Dyan Vicente Agustin, RMFB 7 commander, identified him through his alias “Genie.”
Agustin said that RMFB 7 is assisting former or active rebels who are willing to surrender, in collaboration with other government agencies.
The surrender was facilitated by the 705th Maneuver Company of RFMB 7, led by PLt. Alfredo Liguayan Jr.*
