Another 16 senior officials were included in the latest reshuffle in the Philippine National Police (PNP) which took effect on Thursday.

In an order dated Jan. 31, PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos designated Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, chief of the Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), as the new director of Quezon City Police District (QCPD), replacing Brig. Gen Antonio Yarra.

Yarra was designated as the new chief of the Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon), replacing Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz who is now the deputy director of the Area Police Command (APC) in the Visayas.

Meanwhile, PNP Training Service director Brig, Gen. Bernard Banac will now head the PRO 8 (Eastern Visayas), replacing Brig. Gen. Rommel Cabagnot, who was reassigned to the Office of the Chief PNP (OCPNP).

Also included in the reshuffle were Maj. Gen. Herminio Tadeo, from APC Visayas to the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM); Maj. Gen. Bartolome Bustamante, from Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) to Directorate for Plans (DPL); Maj. Gen. Walter Castillejos, from DPL to DPCR; Maj. Gen. Domingo Cabillan, from Northern Luzon APC to OCPNP; Maj. Gen. Nickson Muksan, from APC Western Mindanao to OCPNP; and Brig. Gen. Arthur Cabalona, from Directorate for Controllership (DC) to PRO Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BAR).

Also getting new assignments are Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, from PRO BAR to Western Mindanao APC; Brig. Gen. Alessandro Abella from Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) to Northern Luzon APC; Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Sifuentes, from Police Security Protection Group (PSPG) to OCPNP; Brig. Gen. Armando de Leon, from Directorate for Information and Communication Technology (DICTM) to PNP Training Service; and Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar from PRO 7 (Central Visayas) to DC.

On Monday, Carlos said at least 38 police commanders in the National Capital Region and other parts of the country were reassigned to other posts in line with the ongoing efforts of the PNP to isolate the organization from local partisan politics.

He said those reassigned effective last January 8 are composed of provincial directors, city directors, and chiefs of police.
