Monkayo, Davao de Oro- A ceremonial reading of sectoral resolution declaring CPP-NPA-NDF and their legal fronts as Persona non Grata by the Unified Tribal Council of Elders and Leaders in Monkayo, Davao de Oro was held yesterday, 17 February 2020.
The group condemns the violent acts of the CPP-NPA-NDF particularly the killing of the Indigenous People and exploiting their vulnerabilities. They also, commit their full support to PRRDs Executive Order No. 70 (Institutionalizing the Whole of Nation Approach and creating the National Task Force that aims to End Local Communist Armed Conflict).
The ceremony was participated by the barangay chieftains of the 20 barangays of Monkayo, Davao de Oro. The said chieftains affirm that they will never tolerate any activity that the Communist Terrorist group may undertake in their ancestral domains.
“Kaming mga IPs, gihatag namo ang among supporta sa mando sa atong presidente nga humanon ang insurhensiya sa atong nasud. Pinaagi ani, makatabang mi sa pag undang sa pag recruit sa maong Terroristang Grupo sa katawhan sa ancestral domain.” Said UTCEL Chairman Datu Carlos Duron.
Highlighting the activity was the mass declaiming of the “Panata Para sa Kapayapaan” or “Vow for peace” that they love their country, family and they are against the communist terrorist group that keep stunting the peace and progress of our country. That they are the Unified Tribal Council of Elders and Leaders and they have one vision that is to make their ancestral domains a place of peace and development, free from insurgency.
“The enthusiasm emanated from this tribal group boosts our inner self to work harder in confronting the Communist Terrorist Armed groups. The tribal group’s sense of unity helps hasten our move towards the achievement of an insurgency-free ancestral domains in Davao de Oro and to totally end the communist armed conflict in our country” says Lt. Colonel Asnawi P Muti, commander, 25IB.
