From Panay News (Mar 17, 2019): Farmer shot dead
A farmer was shot dead in Sitio Tuko, Barangay Trinidad , Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
Resident Joebert Albino, 35, sustained gunshot wounds on the different part of the body, police said.
According to investigation, Albino was on his way home when alleged members of New People’s Army (NPA) peppered him with bullets around 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The suspects shouted “Mga NPA kami” then fled after the shooting, the police added.
Officers of Guihulngan City police station have yet to identify the suspects and the motive in the incident.

Guihulngan City has long been a hotbed of the Maoist Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) insurgency. The city has also served as a backdrop for tit-for-tat killings between the CPP/NPA and other groups that broke away from the Maoists back in the mid-1990s.
