From the Visayan Daily Star (Oct 22): Army gives 931 medical help

The medical mission of the Philippine Army, in tandem with a parents teacher association, at the Guilhungan Elementary School in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, benefitted 931 civilians Friday.

Capt. Ruel Llanes, 303rd Infantry Brigade spokesman, yesterday said that soldiers offered medical and dental services and equipment and cateredto the civilians by combining resources and skills to provide quality health care needs and medical benefits for the students and parents of Guiljungan Elementary School.


Llanes said skilled soldiers also offered their expertise in haircutting, massaging, cooking, and party organizing.

Mayor John Rey Tabujara thanked the participants as well as other government agencies who shared their time, effort and skills in making the medical and dental mission in Guiljungan successful.

Tabujara also thanked the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other stakeholders for working together to serve the people, especially in the depressed areas, who are in need of medical and dental attention.

Col. Alberto Desoyo, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, “it makes us even more excited because this is the only time that we can share the kind of love that we give to our own children”
