A significant portion of the military's land and air assets
were present during the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)'s 80th founding
anniversary Monday morning.
This was disclosed by AFP spokesman Col. Restituto Padilla.
Military land assets on hand during customary parade include
194 vehicles which include armored fighting vehicles, truck-towing artillery,
tractors, disaster response, rescue and communication vehicles.
Of these, 59 are armored fighting vehicles, including four
mounting the .50 caliber remote-control weapon systems which were recently
acquired.
On the Air Force side, 24 aircraft were on hand and this
includes the FA-50PHs, S-211s, AgustaWestland AW-109 attack helicopters, C-295
medium transports, two C-130 cargo planes, SF-260 trainers and W-3A 'Sokol'
combat utility helicopters.
Around 59 paratroopers participated in the practice drops
which was another highlight of the event.
